To make ResMed AirMini CPAP machine so portable and compact a few modifications have been made, the most significant being waterless humidification. Another point to consider is whether your desired mask is compatible with a ResMed AirMini Travel CPAP device.
Is My Mask Compatible With A ResMed AirMini Travel CPAP Device?
Thankfully this ResMed portable CPAP machine is designed to work with a variety ResMed CPAP masks and nasal pillows. These include the AirFit™ P10, AirFit N30, AirFit N20, AirTouch™ N20, AirFit F20, AirTouch F20 and AirFit F30.
All masks are specially made to fit the AirMini ResMed tubing and are used in conjunction with a disposable waterless humidifier.
ResMed Waterless Humidification
One of the most convenient features of the ResMed AirMini CPAP machine is the waterless humidification. No longer do you have to worry about carrying distilled water or deal with a wet machine while travelling.
In place of the water are the disposable ResMed HumidX and HumidX Plus waterless humidifiers. These small cartridges add moisture to the air to prevent dryness to the nose, mouth, and throat.

My Experience With ResMed AirMini
I have used both my regular sized ResMed AirSense 10 CPAP and the smaller ResMed AirMini for travel both outside and within my home country of Australia. The devices are different and after using both I feel qualified to share my comparisons of the two.
ResMed AirMini
While nobody can deny that the ResMed AirMini CPAP machine is the perfect size for travel, there are differences that need to be considered.
When first buying the ResMed AirMini I was told that humidification and sound would be the most noticeable differences from my everyday CPAP machine.
ResMed AirMini Humidification
Although the ResMed AirMini can be used without the HumidX and HumidX Plus humidification cartridges, having humidification was important to me as nasal dryness has been the hardest challenge I have had to face since using a CPAP machine.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that the HumidX Plus cartridges gave enough humidification to prevent nasal dryness throughout my two month-long Thailand and Vietnam trip.
ResMed AirMini Noise
The rhythmic airy hum of a CPAP machine would have to be one of the main complaints of the partner of a sleep apnoea sufferer. Waking with a start to the screaming echo of an unsealed mask is simply unforgettable.
While the ResMed AirMini is a little louder than my regular CPAP machine it was not enough to disturb my husband’s sleep. I did not miss my home CPAP machine and always woke refreshed after a good night sleep.
