The Hilton Bangkok Grande Asoke is in a perfect location near the Terminal 21 Shopping Mall. The hotel is also a short walk to the Sukhumvit MRT underground and the Asoke BTS Skytrain Stations, making it an ideal base for travel to many of Bangkok’s tourist attractions.

The hotel’s sail like facade makes it an instantly recognisable Sukhumvit landmark. Inside, this unique design continues to create a geometric illusion that is pleasing to the eye.

The Hilton Bangkok Grande Asoke has an assortment of rooms including family friendly rooms with separate sleeping and play areas. Executive rooms and suites come with Executive Club Lounge access which is located on the 24th floor.

The room décor is contemporary with subtle Thai accents. Each room has quality Hilton bedding, a comfortable sitting area and spacious work desk. The 5-star luxury Sofitel Sukhumvit Bangkok is located in the heart of Sukhumvit Road at 189 Sukhumvit Road Soi 13 – 15 Klongtoey Nua, Wattana 10110 Bangkok.

The Sofitel’s location in the Asoke neighbourhood is perfect for using the BTS Skytrain for visiting Bangkok’s major attractions.  The area is also known for its great nightlife, restaurants and bars. Some of Bangkok’s popular malls Terminal 21 is close by and close to Phrom Phong BTS is Em Quartier.

Facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, gym, spa and wellness centre all located on the 9th floor.

Restaurants include the Belga Rooftop Bar and Brasserie with great views over Bangkok.  A favourite breakfast venue of ours.  In the evening enjoy a ‘sundowner’ in their bar before dinner.  The Liquide Pool Bar offers cocktails, beers, wines and smoothies with a pool side snack menu.  Voila on the 32nd floor has one of the best Thai and Western set menu for lunch in Bangkok.

After spending a considerable amount of time enjoying all the Things to do in Thailand, and 15+ visits to Bangkok, often staying in different places, we highly recommend staying at the five-star The Westin Grande Sukhumvit. It is our favorite hotel in the city.

Located in the heart of Bangkok in the Sukhumvit district, just over 20km from Don Mueang International Airport, alongside the BTS Asok Skytrain and the Sukhumvit MRT subway station making this hotel is very accessible by public transportation. The hotel is located in Downtown Bangkok which allows you to truly experience the culture and nightlight right outside the hotel door.

The food at The Westin Grande Sukhumvit is fabulous as they have a delicious international breakfast in the Seasonal Tastes Restaurant. Kisso serves fantastic Japanese-inspired dishes such as sushi and Bento Boxes and was voted Best Japanese Restaurant in Bangkok.

Lastly, if you’re just looking for a quick drink, then be sure to stop by the Zest Bar and Terrace. If you want to eat off-site, then checking out the nearby Terminal 21 Shopping Mall is a great way to enjoy some shopping, and their food court has a variety of options.

Though the rooms are a little dated in their décor, the hotel offers a comfortable place to stay in Bangkok.  These spacious suites contain a combined dining and living room which is the perfect place to relax after a long day of sightseeing. There is a small balcony off the living room which has views overlooking Bangkok.

The bedroom features dark wood furnishings with a king size bed, work desk and TV. There is lots of cupboard space which also houses the in room safe, iron, robes, and slippers. The ensuite bathroom contains a separate bathtub and shower.

Conrad Bangkok is a hotel which you wish you never have to leave! Originally built in 2002, Conrad Bangkok was recently renovated in 2018, so the rooms are very modern and comfortable.

Conrad Bangkok is located at Bangkok’s Central Business District. The nearest BTS is Phloen Chit, which is only 650-meter from the hotel. You can walk for about 10 minutes to the BTS or take the shuttle bus which departs every 15 minutes.

Conrad Bangkok is just 2 BTS stops away from Siam, home to several big shopping malls, such as Siam Paragon, Centralworld, Siam Centre.

If you’re more of a nature lover, the good news is that Lumpini Park is just 850m (11 mins walk) from Conrad Bangkok. And Benchakitti Park is about 1.1km (15 mins walk) from the hotel.

The hotel has a rooftop infinity pool overlooking the city and a fully equipped gym for guests. Also on the roof is the casual Clover Sky Bar and restaurant which is the ideal place to relax and unwind with a cocktail or two after a day exploring the city.

The restaurant is open from 6am-11pm daily and serves authentic Thai food and a choice of international dishes which are good value and delicious.

Hotel Clover Asoke is in a prime location just a 5-minute walk to Asoke BTS and Sukhumvit MRT skytrain stations for access to the whole city. It is also within easy walking distance to the famous Terminal 21 shopping mall just 5 minutes away on foot. Terminal 21 has multiple levels of shops, restaurants, and entertainment for travellers to enjoy.

It is also just a short 20-minute walk from Benchakitti Park, a lovely green space with a lake and cycle path, if visitors want a respite from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok.

Tongtara Riverview Hotel

The Tongtara Riverview Hotel offers 4-star accommodation in Bangkok with lovely city and river views. The rooms are uncluttered and spacious and the hotel has facilities that travellers love like a pool, gym, bar, coffee shop and onsite restaurants. With free parking and free Wi-Fi, the Tongtara Hotel is popular with Thai travellers and gets excellent reviews for its central location, service and overall great value.  

From Tongtara it’s a short 700-metre walk to the pier at Asiatique and from there you can catch a river ferry to the centre of Bangkok. A breezy 5 kilometres on the ferry and you’ll have easy access to the main Bangkok attractions, The Grand Palace, Wat Phra Chetuphon, and Wat Arun. A little further away is the MBK centre, Jim Thomson House, and Khaosan Road. 

There are convenience stores near the hotel but the main attraction on the riverfront is Asiatique, a restaurant and shopping complex with upmarket shops, a night market and a selection of busy riverside restaurants.

At Asiatique you can enjoy a meal overlooking the Chao Phraya River or relax with a cocktail and watch the sunset over the water. Asiatique is a bit touristy and expensive, but the riverside location is very appealing. 

It’s worth mentioning that the river ferries stop running at sunset and the Tongtara Hotel is not near the BTS or Skyrail. so, if you’re out at night you’ll need to take a taxi.

Riva Arun Riverside Bangkok

A small boutique hotel in Bangkok the Riva Arun sits just a few metres from the mighty Chao Phraya River. Its 25 stylish rooms range from small but well-appointed to larger suites and one that features a jacuzzi on the balcony. 

If you don’t score a room with a view, head up to the rooftop restaurant on the fifth floor to enjoy almost 360 degree views of Wat Arun and the Chao Phraya in front of you and Wat Pho to the rear. Breakfast is also served here. 

The hotel does not have a gym or pool however guests can use these facilities at the sister property a little further up the river. 

Riva Arun’s key selling point, besides the stunning views it offers, is its proximity to the major sites most first-time visitors want to see. Wat Pho is directly behind the hotel and the Grand Palace a short walk away. Also, just a 5 minute stroll will get you to the Siam Museum, which hosts a fun interactive exhibition that is an excellent insight into Thai culture. The Flower Market is also within walking distance.

Public transport options are excellent for Riva Arun guests. The Rajini Pier is 500m from the hotel and is serviced by the orange flag ferries and the popular hop on hop off tourist boat. If you want to head to Chinatown or up to Sukhumvit for some shopping, the Sanam Chai (Blue MRT) Metro station is also 500m from the hotel.

In the evening, you have three of Bangkok’s most popular riverside restaurants right outside your door and several small cafes in the surrounding laneways. Stoll towards the flower market for street food vendors who serve dinner to local workers late into the night.

If you’re looking for a good value but central place to stay in Bangkok, then try Chetuphon Gate Hotel. It is near the all the key central sights of Bangkok and actually overlooks the stunning Wat Pho, with many of the rooms having direct views over this historic temple (photo taken from room 305). It is a 10-minute walk from the Grand Palace, where the world-famous Emerald Buddha is housed, and only a few minutes from the boats that take you over the river to Wat Arun. 

The rooms are small, but clean and well looked after, with everything you need provided, including towels and shampoo in the bathroom. They also include WiFi in the price, and have air-conditioning, which is much needed on the stifling summer nights in the city. 

It has a small cafe downstairs, opening at 8am every morning with very friendly staff. Coffee is about 55฿ a cup, and it has a Western menu alongside the Thai food. Highly recommended are the panini, a welcome relief from hot Thai curries, and they’ll set you back about 120฿ each. On a good day, you can take breakfast out on the deck before venturing off into the city.

All this makes Chetuphon Gate just the perfect place to explore Central Bangkok, a small hotel with a cult following, one we think you’ll love.

Rambuttri Village Inn

If you’re looking for a comfortable and affordable hotel in the centre of Bangkok, right next to Khao San Road, the Rambuttri Village Inn is the perfect choice. The rooms are cosy and offer great value for money, especially if you get a deal that includes free breakfast. The buffet is fantastic with plenty of options, including sweet and savoury dishes. 

There is no need to worry about transport, since this hotel is located so close to plenty of attractions. After a quick 10-minute walk you can reach the river where you can hop on a boat which will take you to Chinatown or close to the Royal Palace. It’s also possible to walk there if you don’t mind the heat.

The Rambuttri Village Inn has several rooftop pools which are the perfect spot to relax after a busy day of sightseeing. While this isn’t a luxury hotel, it’s the perfect balance between budget-friendly, while still providing lots of quality.

There is a 7-11 located right by the entrance which is very convenient, and in the evening a lot of street food stalls pop up around the area, so you don’t have to go far to grab a delicious dinner.
