Frequent Traveller June 2016
June 2016 was our busiest month since we began this epic journey last October. During the month we travelled to 5 different cities. Bangkok, Singapore, Manila, Hong Kong and Macau. Wow what a Month. We had a lot of fun. Met some lovely people. Enjoyed different foods, and were fortunate enough to see some truly wonderful sights.
First exiting city visited was Thailand’s Capital Bangkok. Such a busy city that we never get tired of and one of our favourite places to enjoy some amazing Thai cuisine. We have a few special places we like to visit in Bangkok and it’s always with mixed emotions that we leave our second home Thailand but an epic journey awaited us in June.
Manila was our first stop to visit a couple of fury friends in the form of cats. We did a quick house sitting assignment in central Manila. A city we had both not visited for many years. So glad we had the chance to reacquaint ourselves again with this delightful fast paced city is full of energy and surprises around every corner. It’s changed a lot in the last 30 years since we both visited in our early travelling years.
Next stop we returned to Singapore for a week to cat sit one of our favourite cats for owners that we have since become friends with. We cared for their home and cat while they had a well-earned break. Singapore’s vibrant night life and colourful city skyscape makes this city one of our favourite places to visit and it was pleasure to house sit and care for a beautiful cat and at the same time explore what Singapore has to offer.
From Singapore it was a quick hop over to Hong Kong on route to Macau. We were returning to Hong Kong for a house sit in July and had a few day spare so though let’s see what Macau has to offer. So glad we did. We had a great time in Macau and you can read more about it here.
One of the highlights of the month was enjoying our anniversary dinner at the Copa Steak House in Macau’s Sands Casino. We had a wonderful evening and the staff were super friendly with good wine, service, and mouth-watering food cooked to perfection. Truly a wonderful evening sharing our travel stories and feeling grateful that we have been fortunate enough to be able to travel and experience so many outstanding adventures.
Have you ever had one of those light bulb moments?
We heard by chance that you could get the ferry to Macau from Hong Kong airport without going through immigration in Hong Kong and having to catch it from Hong Kong island therefore saving one immigration checkpoint and if this was true it would save us a lot of time and money so we set about trying to figure out how to do it. We searched online and there wasn’t any real clear information but we decided to give it a go anyway. So glad we did. You can read more about it here.
